The Texas Longhorns already have a solid verbal commit from 6’2″ 180 lbs quarterback Jerrod Heard, from Denton Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, but they aren’t the only horse in this race. Heard also has offers from Ohio State, Nebraska, Baylor, Arizona, Arizona State, and LSU.
Likes: Feels pressure coming from defensive line and can step up in the pocket. Throws a good deep ball. Doesn’t look run first. Has good speed and good field vision. Can hit the open holes in the defense. Keeps the defense honest, a threat to pass as well as a threat on the run and in the option package. Makes good decisions with the football. Won’t go head-to-head with a defender, knows when to get out of bounds.
Dislikes: Has to do a better job leading his receivers and has a tendency to stare them down. Needs to find a strong three-step drop instead of going back five or six steps, limiting his options down field and limiting his time to throw. Could use some more muscle on his 180 lbs frame, especially if he’s going to be a Division-I quarterback.

I had to share this particular blog, “Texas Longhorns:
QB Jerrod Heard (Denton Guyer) Elite Texas Football” with my pals on facebook .
